Days of electron microscopy: Invitation to a lecture
FCH doctoral student Kristína Trebulová will give a lecture as part of the Days of Electron Microscopy 2026 programme titled When yeast sparks: How low-temperature plasma changes microorganisms through the eyes of electron microscopy. The lecture will take place during the lecture afternoon on 24 March 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the large meeting room of VÚVeL, Hudcova 70, Brno.

When and where:
24 March 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Large meeting room of VÚVeL, Hudcova 296/70, Brno
The micro world is everywhere around us, and often within us. Electron microscopy allows us to look into structures and processes that fundamentally affect the health of animals and people, as well as the functioning of entire ecosystems. The lecture afternoon will offer three different perspectives on the micro world: historical, mycological and bacteriological, with an emphasis on accessible and engaging explanations for the general public. Lecture programme:
I. Overcoming the limits of light: The journey of electron microscopy from its beginnings to the future. Speaker: MVDr. Pavel Kulich, Ph.D., VÚVeL
II. When yeast sparks: How low-temperature plasma changes microorganisms through the eyes of electron microscopy. Speaker: Ing. Kristína Trebulová, Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Chemistry
III. Meet E. coli: The bacterium we know, yet it never ceases to surprise us. Speaker: Mgr. Magdaléna Crhánová, Ph.D., VÚVeL
The lectures are open without registration.
