Science through Play – family day at the Technical Museum

On Saturday, 18 October 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Faculty of Chemistry will take part in the Science through Play event at the Technical Museum.

Children can look forward to chemistry and physics experiments, technical inventions, famous scientists, and much more. The aim of the event is to show young visitors, in an engaging and age-appropriate way, that science is important – and nothing to be afraid of. Through fun experiments, they will get hands-on experience with instruments and principles used in real scientific work. For many children, these experiences may spark new interests and inspire their future studies.

The Faculty of Chemistry has prepared an interactive booth where you can try chemistry firsthand – quite literally! We’ll show you that you can perform many of these experiments at home – for example:

  • blow a caramel bubble,

  • make slime,

  • wake up yeast before baking,

  • or grow the legendary sugar snake.

And don’t miss our chemistry show full of surprises and spectacular experiments, taking place at 11:00 and 15:00. Come and see for yourself!
