Original Abstract

Our study focused attention to DDT and its metabolites and to polychlorinated biphenyls. The river Jevišovka was selected as model locality. The river flows partly through protected area, partly through agricultural aream without any important industrial production. Sediment samples were taken along river flow in nine places. Soil samples were taken from the agricultural fields close to the sediment sampling place. Pressurized solvnet extraction was used for the extraction of target compound. The extracts were purified by the column chromatography on silica and analysed by gas chromatography with electron capture detection.
