Fifth Edition of the May Challenge: The Faculty of Chemistry Stays Active
This May once again belonged to everyone who accepted the challenge “To Work by Bike, on Foot, or at a Jog.” And there were plenty of them! A total of 33 employees from the Faculty of Chemistry joined the May challenge.
May is a special month at the Faculty of Chemistry. Morning greetings are often followed by the question: “So, how many kilometers today?” People not only bike or walk to work – many even take longer routes just to rack up a few extra kilometers. Afternoon rides or hikes? Totally normal.
Things were a bit calmer than last year, with no wild record chasers – well, except maybe Jiří Smilek with his 1,530 km! 😄 Second place went to Michal Marko (1,150 km), followed closely by Honza Pernica (1,146 km).
The walking/running category saw Nicole Černeková hold her strong form with 482 km. She was joined on the imaginary podium by Zdenka Kozáková (324 km) and Marcela Králová (300 km). Congratulations!
Consistency matters!
Regular activity is a key part of the challenge – rain or shine, healthy or busy. Once again, team CMV Bikers achieved a perfect attendance record. The same goes for team Tour de FCH, led
But this challenge isn’t only about numbers. It’s about connection, energy, and cheering each other on. We wrapped up our May efforts with a group ride and walk, followed by a festive awards ceremony and the passing of the traveling trophies.
A big thank you goes to everyone who took part in the challenge, as well as to the Faculty management for once again supporting us by covering the registration fees. And don’t forget — you can keep cycling or walking to work all year round!
