Invitation to Lecture: Philippe Hauser – Surface Antigenic Variation of the Human Fungal Pathogen Pneumocystis jirovecii: Possible Involvement of DNA Triplexes

We cordially invite you to a lecture by Dr. Philippe Hauser, which will take place on Tuesday, July 15 at 10:15 AM in lecture hall P4, as part of the workshop Advanced Research on Pneumocystis jirovecii and Fungal Infections in Immunocompromised Individuals.

Dr. Philippe Hauser – Education and Professional Experience

  • 1984 Bachelor’s in Biology, University of Lausanne

  • 1986 Master’s, University of Lausanne

  • 1987 Predoctoral studies, University of Pavia, Italy

  • 1991 PhD, University of Lausanne

  • 1994 Postdoctoral research, University of Oxford, UK

  • 1995–present Research on the human pathogenic fungus Pneumocystis jirovecii, CHUV Hospital (Lausanne)

Research topics on P. jirovecii:

  • Surface antigenic variation

  • Genome structure

  • Sexual reproduction

  • Evolution

  • Molecular epidemiology

  • Human-to-human transmission

  • Drug resistance

Research funding: 2.8 million Swiss francs (Swiss National Science Foundation)
Publications: 94 peer-reviewed contributions

  • 54 original research articles

  • 29 collaborative papers

  • 11 review articles
