Original Abstract
Fibre-optic cables within buildings pose a potential security risk as they can function as microphones, capturing human speech. In this article, we address the assessment of various types of single-mode and multi-mode cables, and their susceptibility to picking up acoustic vibrations within the audible spectrum.
