FCH supports teachers in teaching natural sciences

On Friday, 31 October 2025, our faculty hosted a training session for more than 50 physics and chemistry teachers from Brno elementary schools. The lower secondary school teachers learned how to use the educational kits that the Faculty of Chemistry supplied to schools established by the City of Brno.

The training was led by RNDr. Věra Pejčochová, Mgr. Jana Vildová, Mgr. Petr Kapounek and Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Opravil, a member of the Natural Sciences Working Group within the MAP project (Local Action Plan for Education Development). The educational kits were created as one of the project’s outputs and are designed to make science subjects at elementary schools more engaging and of higher quality.

Similar training sessions will continue at the faculty over the next three Fridays – this time for primary school teachers and kindergarten educators. Each delivery of educational kits is accompanied by professional training on how to use them effectively. We believe that the new teaching kits will become a valuable tool for teachers and help spark greater interest in chemistry, physics, and other STEM subjects among pupils.
