The new academic year has begun
On Monday, 15 September, the winter semester started at BUT. First-year students opened it with a ceremonial gathering, where they were personally welcomed by the Dean of the faculty, received practical advice on how to successfully navigate the start of their studies, met with student advisors and faculty representatives, and in the evening enjoyed the traditional Freshers’ Welcome in a friendly atmosphere.
After the Dean’s opening remarks at the ceremonial start of the academic year, the programme continued with an introduction to students’ rights and responsibilities, along with practical advice on how to successfully manage the first months of study and advance to the summer semester. The Vice-dean for bachelor’s and master’s studies offered encouraging words, and the student advisors for individual programmes were also introduced to the newcomers.
The evening programme featured the traditional Freshers’ Welcome, organised on behalf of the Faculty by the student group Chemists from BUT in cooperation with the student ambassadors. Many thanks go to the organisers for a well-prepared event and for creating a welcoming atmosphere for the new students.
