Original Abstract

Model PHA producer Cupriavidus necator H16 (CCM 3726) was exposed to presence of NaCl causing osmotic stress which represented environmental stress factor, to copper ions representing anthropogenic pollutant and levulinic acid, microbial inhibitor commonly presented in hydrolysates of lignocellulosic biomass. Multiple serial transfers of cell cultures in Erlenmeyer flasks after 48 hours were provided within adaptation experiments for more than 80 passages. Passages have been basically characterized (growth potential, analysis of PHAs) and selected preserved ones were also compared with wild-type strain considering potential of PHAs accumulation (GC-FID), testing of robustness, “fingerprint” of cells using Raman spectroscopy and others.
