Original Title
Chitosan-based 3D printed artificial bone with enhanced pro-healing and antimicrobial activity
English Title
Chitosan-based 3D printed artificial bone with enhanced pro-healing and antimicrobial activity
Type
Functioning sample
Abstract
The functional sample consists of a 3D printed synthetic bone implant based on chitosan, which additionally contains antibacterial and healing bioactive substances. The sample is prepared by low-temperature 3D printing from a previously optimized antibacterial cement ink. The 3D printed synthetic bioactive bone implant is suitable, for example, as a replacement for the parietal bone in skull cranioplasty.
