Abstract

Original Abstract

Antimicrobial compounds of a plant origin constitute a structurally diverse group of bioactive substances, known for their beneficial antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal properties (1, 2). The objective of this study was to develop a biocompatible delivery system based on polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) nanofibers that have been functionalized with plant-based bioactive agents, namely curcumin, eugenol, and thymol.
