Original Abstract

Fluorescence spectroscopy technique has been used for characterization of humic compounds and humic acids (HA) respectively. Synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy (SFS) is one of analytical methods which can be chosen for determination of aromatic polycyclic compounds. SFS method has been used for studying of luminescent properties of this aromatic mixtures with different content of fluorophore groups which are present in the structure of humic acids. The measurements of SFS with best spectral resolution of the peaks were obtained in two dimensional scanning mode. The lignitic HA were isolated from lignite ( the mine of Mikulčice, Czech republic ), by standard alcaline extraction using International Humic Substances Society methodology. This study showed different behaviour of natural lignitic humic acids and dependence of their relative fluorescence intensities on pH value with changes on the structure of the samples HA.
