Original Abstract
Increased oxidaive stress, AGE-RAGE interaction and RAGE gene polamorphisms are likely accompanied with impairment of the phagocytic function of monocytes/macrophages. Thus, these effects may contribute to the low resistance to infections in diabetic subjects.
