Original Abstract

This contribution presents first results aimed at investigation of stability of polybutadiene polyurethanes pre-pared from the Czech raw material Krasol in media closely related to the environment of hu-man body. Polyurethane samples were tested for tensile properties, Shore A hardness, softening by thermomechanical analysis and surface properties by water contact angle measuring, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Tests were made with original samples and after 5 week placing in the test media. No appreciable changes were determined for any composition in any measured property. Thus, there are justifiable presumptions for good hydrolytic and enzymatic resistance of polyurethanes based on polybutadienes Krasol. Further research should test their oxidative resistance and hemocompatibilty and focus also on hydrogenated polybutadiene polyol.
