Original Abstract
Iron, manganese and ammonia when prezent in groundwater sources are generally found in their chemically reduced and soluble form. Oxidation of manganese is catalyzed by previously oxidized manganese. Naturally occuring bacteria are able to catalyze the oxidation of iron, manganese and ammonia.
