Original Abstract

Two groups of polyhalogenated organic compounds - polybrominated flame retardants (BFRs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Excellent physical properties that made them suitable for lot of industrial applications. However, the same properties also made them persistant and remaining in most parts of the environment, and provably harmful to animals and humans.
