Abstract

Original Abstract

Methods of thermal analysis and mainly thermogravimetry are traditionally used in material science and serve for prediction of stability and degradability of various materials. In soil science, first applications were aimed to determine stability and content of soil organic and inorganic matter. However, last decades brought a remarkable progress and more sophisticated applications of thermogravimetry allowing for example reliable estimation of total organic carbon and nitrogen, carbonate and clay content.
