Original Abstract
The aim of this work was to produce PHA from waste cheese whey employing bacterial strains Bacillus megaterium CCM 2037. This lactose positive strain was capable of utilizing cheese whey and producing PHA. The medium compositiom was optimized in oreder to mximize the PHA yields. Finally, application of exogenous stress improved production of PHA significantly. The reached yields were 50fold higher than that obtained in non-optimized medium without stress application.
