The course is focused on increasing the knowladge of general, physical, inorganical and organical chemistry for understanding the relation between structure, chemical properties and environmental behavior of compounds. Further, basic introduction to the theory of chemical thermodynamics, reaction kinetics and electrochemistry, is covereded and so are important chemical production technologies and raw material treatment methods.

Aims
The objective of the course is to provide the students with basic knowledge of chemistry which will serve as a platform for further education of enironmental and safety engineering as well as related fileds of study.
