International conference European Symposium on Biopolymers 2023
The 11th international conference on biopolymers ESBP 2023 was held at the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. The conference was opened on Wednesday, 13 September, by Professor Stanislav Obruča, head of the organizing team of this year’s conference, which was organized by the Faculty of Chemistry BUT.
Profesor Stanislav Obruča | Author: Andrea Němcová The aim of this multidisciplinary conference is to create a discussion platform for scientists and practitioners who are interested in biopolymers such as polyesters, polysaccharides or polyamides. The conference traditionally brings together a range of experts from a variety of disciplines, from molecular biologists and biotechnologists, to experts in the characterisation and processing of biopolymers, to application specialists in fields such as agriculture, cosmetics and medicine. They can share their knowledge, experience and opinions on all aspects related to biopolymers.
Author: Andrea Němcová Diversity and interdisciplinarity as well as the high professional quality of the guests and speakers are typical features of the different editions of this conference series. More than 150 experts from Europe and other continents came to Brno. The biggest draws of the programme are the lectures of Professors Kumar Sudesh (Universiti Sains Malaysia), Bernd Rehm (Griffith University, Australia) and Bjørn Christensen (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), who are among the world’s top experts in the field of production, research and applications of biopolymers.
