Students of FCH BUT took part in a printed electronics workshop in Munich
What would it be like to swap a lecture hall for state-of-the-art laboratories in Munich for a few days? For students of the Institute of Physical and Applied Chemistry, this became a reality at the end of February. Thanks to faculty support, they were able to participate in an exclusive workshop focused on the printing and testing of electrochemical sensors under the guidance of Dr Matouš Kratochvíl.

Morning expert lectures on printing technologies and electrochemistry were followed by afternoon hands-on sessions with screen-printing machines and potentiostats. The result was fully functional sensors that the students designed, fabricated, and tested themselves, giving them invaluable insight into the field with direct applications in wearable electronics and sensor systems.

Working in an international team and sharing experience with experts in materials printing is an important part of preparing for a future scientific or industrial career. In addition to certificates of completion, the students brought back from Munich, above all, valuable practical experience. The event confirmed that studying at our faculty goes far beyond exams and opens the door to cutting-edge technologies and international collaboration worldwide.
