  7. 1st Autumn Workshop on Functional Organic Materials for Sustainable Future

1st Autumn Workshop on Functional Organic Materials for Sustainable Future

On the 15th and 16th of November, the Faculty of Chemistry BUT and the Institute of Environmental Technology and Protection will host the 1st Autumn Workshop on Functional Organic Materials for Sustainable Future – exploring the cutting-edge research of multiple international partners.

The workshop offers a platform for sharing recent results and trends in the topics including, but not limited to, bio-inspired organic and hybrid functional materials, their experimental evaluation (optical, electrical properties, catalytic properties in solar-fuels production etc.) and theoretical investigation. Further, special attention will be given to green and sustainable technologies and innovations – circular economy of CO2, green approaches to organic synthesis, ecological use of solvents.

This event is the continuation of previous workshops Bio and Sustainable Organic Electronics 1 and 2, which took place in May (Bari, IT) and October (Brno, CZ) 2022. However, this time, a wider international participation – Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Serbia, Austria, Slovakia – was secured.

Moreover, two public lectures of renowned scientists – Prof. Heinz Langhals (LMU München) and Prof. Niyazi Serdar Sariciftci (JKU Linz) will help to disseminate the research towards a wider audience. The workshop will engage experts, junior scientists, and students to help shaping the future with sustainable technologies.
