Faculty of Chemistry Participates in an International Educational Program Focused on Circular Economy

This year, the Faculty of Chemistry at Brno University of Technology (BUT) is actively involved in organizing the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) focused on Technologies for Circular Economy and Environmental Sustainability. This innovative educational initiative combines online learning with physical mobility, offering students a unique opportunity to collaborate on an international level. In addition to the Faculty of Chemistry at BUT, the program includes the Gdańsk University of Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the University of Vigo, and the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
The program officially began on March 10, 2025, with a series of expert online lectures featuring contributions from all participating institutions. The Faculty of Chemistry contributed with a presentation titled Turning Waste into Resources: Processing of Wheat Bran in a Circular Economy Framework, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Pavel Diviš, Ph.D., and Ing. Jaromír Pořízka, Ph.D.
As part of the physical mobility phase, which will take place from April 7 to 12 in Porto, Portugal, five master’s and Ph.D. students from the Faculty of Chemistry will participate. Together with international colleagues, they will work on a project focused on circular economy and environmental sustainability. This program not only provides participants with valuable experience but also enables them to establish professional connections and contribute to the development of innovative sustainability solutions.
