Meeting with Academics: Assoc. Prof. František Šoukal

We warmly invite all students to the next lecture in the new series of inspiring meetings with academics from the Faculty of Chemistry. The second lecture of the series will take place on April 14 at 12:30 in room P1 and will feature Assoc. Prof. František Šoukal, Director of the Institute of Materials Chemistry.

Would you like to know how an enthusiastic student becomes a successful scientist? What was the path our lecturers took to achieve their current academic titles and scientific discoveries? Come and hear the personal stories of our academics as they share their beginnings in academia, their research activities, and present the current research projects they are working on at the Faculty of Chemistry. The event will also include an overview of their involvement in research teams and collaborations with other professionals.

František Šoukal studied and now works as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, Brno University of Technology, and serves as the Director of the Institute of Materials Chemistry. In his scientific and teaching activities, he focuses mainly on cement-based construction materials in close cooperation with industrial partners. His work involves transforming the production of construction materials towards sustainable and circular technologies, including the valorization of various industrial wastes as valuable raw materials. His research topics also include ballistic-resistant cement composites and concrete with plastic-like properties. He is the author of more than 70 scientific articles and several patents and industrial technologies.

📅 Date: April 14, 2025
🕜 Time: 12:30 – 13:00
📍 Location: Lecture Hall P1, Faculty of Chemistry

We look forward to seeing you!
