Car

Brno public transport

• Take a tram number 12 in direction to Královo Pole, terminal stop “Technologický park”.

Plane

• Wien-Schwechat Airport: direct bus to Brno from the airport or take a public transport Wien Hauptbahnhof train station and continue to Brno by train.
• Vaclav Havel Airport Prague: public transport to the Main train station (Praha-hlavní nádraží) or Central bus station (Praha-Florenc), then by train or by bus (both under 3 hours) to Brno. Search a connection here.
• Brno-Tuřany Airport: bus number E76 to the main train station (“Hlavní nádraží”), then change to the tram number 12. More information at Brno Airport website.

Getting around

• In public transport, you can use contactless cards, or smartphones and smartwatches to buy single tickets. Beep and go. Just get on and tap your card against the yellow reader inside. You’ll be charged for a basic transferable 60-minute ticket (25 CZK).

• Špilberk Castle

  It is a castle on the hilltop in Brno, Southern Moravia built in the first half of the 13th century.

• Brno’s Underground

  A network of Baroque cellars under the Vegetable Market, underground reservoirs in Žlutý kopec or the Ossuary at the Church of St James), the second-largest ossuary in Europe after the catacombs of Paris.

• Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul

  It is a national cultural monument and one of the most important pieces of Baroque architecture in South Moravia. Possible to climb onto a tower which offers a nice view.

• Tugendhat Villa

  The Villa of Greta and Fritz Tugendhat, designed by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and built in 1929–1930.
