On the project

The widespread use of belite-rich cement (BRC), in addition to reducing CO2 emissions and energy consumption, would also help to preserve natural limestone deposits. BRC achieves higher long-term strengths with an increased service life compared to Portland cement. However, its mass use is hindered by the low initial strengths of this material. A potential way to solve this problem is to activate the clinker with suitable activator. Therefore, the effect of alkaline compounds on the hydration process of belite rich clinker will be investigated.
