Harnessing the high biopolymer accumulation potential and xylose utilization of C. thermodepolymerans necessitates its transformation into a modular and programmable platform to facilitate advanced metabolic engineering. Establishing C. thermodepolymerans as a standardized, modular host enables the predictable design of complex logic circuits and metabolic pathways, advancing its role as a versatile "living factory" within the circular bioeconomy.
