Originální abstrakt

This contribution presents several examples of beneficial applications of lig-nite even in its natural state in various ecology-related areas. First, natural lignite sorption properties to organic dyes and phenol are reported. Second, lignite-based fertilizer influence on the reduction of heavy metals uptake by sev-eral plants is presented. Finally, sorption of toluene on thermally treated natural lignite is briefly discussed.
