This paper deals with the use of calcinated clay and slag as SMCs for preparation of blended Portland cement CEM II/B-M (S-Q). Two calcinating temperatures (600 °C and 700 °C) were used in order to produce two types of calcinated clay. 30 % od the cement was replaced by the combination of slag and calcinated clay. The ratios of calcinated clay to slag were 1:1, 2:2 and 3:1 for both calcinating temperatures. The influence of the calcination temperatures and the amount of the clay addition on the mechanical properties of the cement was studied.
