It was recently shown that laser- ablation based analytical methods (LIBS, LA-ICP-MS) could be easily implemented in applications, in which the capability for spatially resolved analysis is required, e.g. to trace the possible migration of elements within plant samples. Here we report on the recent progress in the utilization of these techniques for mapping of the elemental distribution in compartments of selected plant samples.
