The article is briefly summarizing the recent knowledge in the field of the high range water reducing agents. The commercially available superplasticizers (SP) types are discussed along with the sketch of the mode of action, influence on the hydration course and the influence of other constituents of mixture on the effect of SP. The compatibility issue is also touched upon.
