Originální abstrakt

Our previous study proved beneficial effect of South-Moravian lignite on the growth of wheat. New field experiments were started using maize (Zea mays) as a test plant. This contribution presents the first year results. Three parameters were followed:  weight of the whole cob,  total corn weight in the cob,  corn yield in the cob. Experimental results confirmed positive effect of the growing NPK dosage on the first two parameters. Further growth of the parameters values was find for blocks supplemented by lignite. First year results give hope for the beneficial effect of lignite as an organic fertilizer when combined with inorganic nutrient supplier on the crop production.
